The upcoming Fairfield First Friday’s event celebrates Youth Art: Celebrating Our Creative Future. Youth Art Month focuses on promoting the importance of art, quality art programs and art education for the youth in our community.
Join Fairfield First Fridays at the Fairfield at Fairfield CoLab (101 N. Court St.) on Friday, March 1 from 6-9 p.m. to enjoy the talent of the youth in our area. Fairfield Community School District; Fairfield High School, Fairfield Middle School, Pence Elementary, Washington Elementary, Maharishi School and the Home School program will have artwork on display by local students.
In addition to the local youth art exhibit, Fairfield High School Individual Speakers will be performing the material they recently competed with at state competition in the main lobby of Fairfield CoLab at 7 p.m.
Come out and offer your support to the up-and-coming artists in our community!
There will be many galleries and venues open on and around the square, a few are listed below.
Carnegie Historical Museum - 114 S. Court St. Heritage Farms of Jefferson County. Open 6-9pm. The Carnegie Historical Museum will be highlighting one Heritage Farm per month. Heritage Farms are those which have been in the same family for 150 years of more. Jefferson County has fourteen farms which have received this recognition. The museum has established a special exhibit case so that each family, in rotation, will have the opportunity to share their story and display their special artifacts. Each Heritage Farm will have their display for a one-month time period and the following month’s First Friday will feature the next honored farm family.
