Fairfield High School to present ‘Night of Theatre’ on Jan. 28

The Fairfield High School Large Group Speech Team has been hard at work since November preparing to compete at IHSSA District Contest on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Clear Creek Amana site.

Students will compete in front of a judge and any group awarded a Division I rating will move on to the next level contest. Led by coaches Noel Wotherspoon and Sam Garles, the team consists of twenty-three students and ten performances across six different categories.

Performances include selections from the comedy musical Firebringer, a Readers’ Theatre adaptation of The Yellow Wallpaper, acting pieces Bedtime and Den of Thieves, three improv groups, two short films and a podcast style radio broadcast all student written and produced.

The team invites the public to join them at Night of Theatre, an exhibition of their performances. This will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the FHS Edgeton, Mitcheltree, Slechta Auditorium. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
