Fairfield Middle School names Students of the Month
May. 31, 2023 10:27 am
Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School “Student of the Month” Award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in the classroom, to displaying Trojan PRIDE, to achievement or improvement in the classroom. The “Students of the Month” certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team. The Elks Lodge provides a prize of $5 and a certificate.
The following was submitted by the nominating teachers and staff:
The 5th Grade Team is excited to announce Jill Lovelady as March's Student of the Month. Jill is willing to volunteer to help, even if it means getting out of her comfort zone. She was willing to talk to the business members as they came in for their tour of the classroom and she did a great job with it. Jill is a respectful young lady, who takes time to go above and beyond expectations. We are so proud of her hard work and can count on her to bring a smile and a positive attitude to the classroom! Congratulations, Jill! Keep up the great work!
Nile Lathrop has been chosen as student of the month for March. Nile has shown his dedication to school by continually putting forth his best effort in school work. He shows his learning with thoughtful, well put together answers. He makes good choices in class, and knows when he needs to separate himself from distractions. He is a leader for his classmates, and I'm excited to see what accomplishments he will achieve in the future! Congratulations Nile!
The 6th Grade Team is pleased to award Student of the Month to Cruz Velasco-Shondel for the month of March. Cruz has had a positive attitude toward learning and his work ethic is one of his greatest strengths. Things are not always easy, but he does not give up. If he does not understand something he will always ask for clarification. He has also been impressing us with his ukulele skills as well. Congratulations and keep it up, Cruz!
The 6th Grade Team would like to award the March Student of the Month award to Savannah Haynes. Savannah is always helpful to her classmates while still getting her own work done. She constantly treats others kindly and asks questions to take responsibility for her learning. We love having Savannah in class because she genuinely listens to what people have to say. Keep up the great work, Savannah!
Hilden Dong is a confident young man. He challenges his own learning and goes beyond class learning. He adds fantastic comments to class discussions. He has a great personality that makes it fun for everyone. The 7th Grade Team is proud of you, Hilden! Keep up the awesome work!
Haley Ulin works very hard to improve her understanding of the material. She asks good questions and is willing to make corrections when needed to improve her understanding. She is also very kind. She always holds the doors open for her teachers and she greets them when she sees them. Way to go, Haley!
Charlotte McKerley has done an excellent job at showing Trojan PRIDE within the classroom. She is a quiet leader that always shows respect to her classmates and teachers. She is artistic and caring. The 8th Grade Team hopes that Charlotte continues her good habits into high school. Congrats!
The 8th Grade Team is proud to announce Dawson Casler as March Student of the Month. He shows respect consistently to his peers and teachers. He is always prepared and willing to help out his students when in need. He has stepped up recently in group projects coming to class with the end in mind. We appreciate his positive attitude and hard work in the classroom. Awesome job, Dawson!
