The city of Fairfield experienced a plant bypass from the storm retention ponds from Thursday through Monday.
This was due to the excess flow coming into the plant caused by the 4.75 inches of rain the city received during that time. The total estimated gallons bypassed is 446,625.
The city of Fairfield is in process of upgrading the treatment facility. The upgrades will increase plant capacity as well as increase the amount of storm water retention.
