Fairfield’s Jack Fisher to turn 100

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, John “Jack” Fisher of Fairfield, formerly of the Douds-Selma area, will celebrate his 100th birthday.
Jack was born and grew up in LeClaire, Iowa. He married Martha Oliver in 1947 and moved to the Douds-Selma area in 1952. They raised four children, and have seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer and worked at Barkers in Keosauqua and later Rockwell in Fairfield. He also was known for and enjoyed playing the fiddle and other stringed instruments.
Jack’s family will be helping him celebrate his birthday on March 11 with an open house from 2-4 p.m. at The Oaks Assisted Living in Fairfield. If you are unable to attend, cards would be appreciated. They can be sent to The Oaks, 2235 Hwy 34, Fairfield, IA 52556.
