The Fairfield Fire Department reports the following:
Monday
1:18 p.m. - The fire department provided EMS assistance in the 200 block of West Jefferson.
5:43 p.m. - Firefighters investigated a possible furnace fire in the basement of 707 N. Fourth St. The homeowner said the house was extremely hot when she arrived home, but the thermostat was set at 65 degrees. Firefighters shut off the power to the furnace and the gas.
NTG - EMS responded to two calls.
Tuesday
3:26 p.m. - The fire department cleaned up after an accident at Third and Jackson. One bag of oil dry was used.
NTG - EMS responded to five calls.
