Award-winning midwife, humanitarian, author and former Fairfield resident Robin Lim has launched her latest book, “Yoni Owner’s Manual,” — inviting readers on a profound journey into the sacredness, resilience, and wisdom of the female body.
Blending ancient wisdom, cultural perspectives, and deeply personal storytelling, Yoni Owner’s Manual explores how the anatomy of women equips them to live with purpose, passion, and power. More than just a guide to reproductive health, this 169-page book is an intimate exploration – and celebration – of feminine divinity and its profound cultural, spiritual and personal significance.
“It is my hope that this book will inspire you to see yourself in a new light — with reverence, joy, and deep self-love,” Lim said. “The Yoni Owner’s Manual is an invitation for every woman to reclaim the beauty, wisdom, and sacredness of her body.”
The yoni (Sanskrit term for the female reproductive system) has been revered and worshiped for centuries in various cultures around the world. It symbolizes life, creation, and the divine feminine. Yet, it has also been a source of shame, misinformation, and taboos. This book seeks to reclaim the narrative, empowering people – especially those with yonis – to better understand their bodies, childbirth, and holistic health.
A fierce advocate for human rights in childbirth, Lim is the visionary and founder of Bumi Sehat Foundation, which operates six clinics in Indonesia and the Philippines, providing essential maternal and infant healthcare. She was named CNN “Hero of the Year” in 2011 and is a recipient of the Ashoka Fellowship, a prestigious lifetime award for social change leaders.
Having been at the forefront of issues affecting women, children, and the environment for more than 33 years, Lim today is a leading authority on women’s reproductive health, a respected author of more than 12 titles, and speaker. This book draws on that experience, blending scientific information with cultural wisdom, aiming to reconnect people with their natural cycles, fertility, and overall well-being. It also addresses topics like menstruation, pregnancy, birth, and self-care from a holistic perspective, as well as Lim’s takes on “yoni envy,” exploring topics ranging from evolving language for the yoni to practices in labiaplasty.
With stunning artwork that honors the power of the yoni, Yoni Owner’s Manual is available now exclusively on Amazon, in paperback or Kindle. Learn more about the author at iburobin.com or about Bumi Sehat Foundation at bumisehat.org.
