Gevocks celebrate 50th anniversary

John and Cathy (Cole) Gevock are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023. They were married on February 10, 1973 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pleasant Plain, Iowa.

John and Cathy are both Fairfield natives. John is a farmer and Cathy is retired from The Dexter Company. They have three children: Allison (Allen Phillips) Law of Coralville, Iowa; Nicole (Kevin) Brown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Jared (Lisa) Gevock of Dubuque, Iowa.

They have nine grandchildren whom they visit frequently to cheer on during their many sporting events.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a mountain home in the Great Smoky Mountains with their children and grandchildren. Their trip included white water rafting, horseback riding, multiple waterfall hikes, exciting dinner shows, lots of card playing and multiple bear sightings!

Their family wants to wish them a very happy 50th anniversary.
