Greater Jefferson County Foundation to offer free scholarship tutorial

The Greater Jefferson County Foundation is offering a free tutorial titled “Developing a Relevant Scholarship Statement” for Fairfield High School and Pekin senior students.

The class will focus on educating students on the proper way to compose and create an effective personal statement or essay for scholarship applications, particularly those available through their colleges or universities.

Pat Thoma Wheeler, formerly of Weber State University in Utah and sponsor of the Jeanne Thoma Scholarship administered by the Foundation, will present the class.

It will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4–5 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Center, 209 S. Court Street.
