Jefferson County Youth Committee plans second wrapping party Dec. 23
Dec. 16, 2021 2:06 pm
The wrapping party held by the Jefferson County Youth Committee on Dec. 11 was so successful that they have planned another.
The second wrapping party will be on Thursday, Dec. 23 from 5–7 p.m. to assist those last-minute shoppers who need help with gift wrapping.
The event will take place again at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Fairfield. Wrapping paper and bows are provided, and a special 4-H gift tag may be used if the client wishes. The tag reads “Wrapped with Care by Jefferson County 4-H.”
Once again, the service is free, but a free-will donation is gratefully accepted. Funds raised by the event will be used for 4-H Scholarships, Awards Night, and membership fees.
Those who helped at the first wrapping party included Melissa Miller with 4-Hers Piper and Brenna Miller, Kandi Diers, Melanie Carlson and son Aaron, Charli Mitchell and daughter Makayla, Samantha Haney and daughters Lily and Josie, 4-H County Youth Coordinator Hilary Lanman and Extension Council member Barbara Kistler.
4-H is an inclusive community youth organization. In 4-H programs, kids and teens complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles.
