Judith and Mel Whitmore to celebrate 65th anniversary
Judith and Mel Whitmore are celebrating their 65th anniversary this year.
The couple were wed on Aug. 23, 1958 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hedrick, Iowa.
The Whitmores have three children: Doug (Angie) Whitmore of Cedar Rapids; Renee (George) Horras of rural Packwood; and Chris Whitmore of Iowa City.
They have five grandchildren: Brandon Whitmore, Coleton Whitmore, Kelsey Whitmore, Whitney Horras and Jared Horras. They also have six great-grandchildren.
Mel owned Whitmore Electric. Judith taught school for 32 years, and was later a substitute teacher.
