How will your high school experiences help you in coming years? My high school experiences will help me in the coming years because of the personal growth that I have made. Throughout my time at Pekin, I have learned how to be a positive role model to my peers and become the type of person who is always willing to help out another.
Fondest memory of high school? My fondest memories from high school would have to be playing the role of Mrs. Potts in our fall musical this past year, or making it to State Speech in solo musical theater and storytelling this year.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? My graduation from Pekin will be a hard goodbye because of the wonderful faculty and staff I will be leaving behind. So many amazing teachers have impacted my life over the past 13 years and I will forever be grateful for the dedication and encouragement that they have given me. So instead of recognizing one or two of them, I would like to recognize all of these wonderful people: Ms. Goudy, Mrs. Wittrock, Ms. Jones, Ms. Carlson, Mrs. Jacobs, Ms. Coffin, Mrs. Bates, Mrs. Wright, Mr. Eidahl, Mr. Hoffmann, and Mr. Mohs, among others.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? My role model would be my dad because he has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me throughout life.
What is special about your high school? The best part about my high school is that as a student you are not limited to only participating in a few clubs or organizations. I’ve been fortunate enough to take advantage of many extracurriculars that have played a part in shaping who I am today. In the future, I think it will be exciting to see what new clubs may be added to make Pekin even more special than it is today.
If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? The biggest advice I would give to myself is that I need to enjoy all the little things more. I took for granted how fast time would fly by and now that graduation season is here, I wish I could rewind the clock and take it all in for just a little bit longer.
