Learn to extend your garden’s harvest at Fairfield Farmers Market
Jul. 21, 2022 2:13 pm, Updated: Jul. 21, 2022 4:37 pm
It’s time to start your fall garden, and a team of experienced gardeners are on board at the July 30 Fairfield Farmers Market to tell you how.
From 9 a.m. until noon that day in Howard Park, an informal panel of growers will share advice, experience and information on extending the harvest season.
Mini-presentations on specific topics will take place every half hour. These include what seeds to plant at this time of year, what plants grow best as transplants for fall harvesting and wild edibles found in our area.
Panelists are Gina Buttikofer, Diana Fern, Susie James, Paul Poole, Kris Johnson, Faith Reeves and Taylor Ross. Take advantage of their combined knowledge to help launch a new growing adventure.
Seedlings for your fall garden will also be available for purchase from market vendors. For more information, call 641-233-7996.
