Mack’s Automotive prepares for move to new home on South 23rd

FAIRFIELD – Mack’s Automotive has been part of our community for many years. Originally opening in 1959, the shop was family-owned until 1995.

In 2019, we were honored to reopen and continue the legacy. Three generations of our family have been involved in this business, starting with my grandfather, Daryl McDowell, who founded the shop, and my father, Doug McDowell, who managed it from 1979 to 1995. I’m grateful for the opportunity to carry on this tradition and to serve our customers today.

Throughout the years, we’ve been fortunate to have the support of local mechanic shops and other businesses in the community. Their encouragement and collaboration have helped us stay focused and busy. We believe that working together with our neighbors and friends is vital, and we are thankful for their trust.

Our focus remains on serving our customers with honesty and care. We are committed to investing in in the best technology and ongoing education to ensure quality repairs. We do not work solely for insurance companies; instead, we prioritize our customers’ best interests – whether guiding them through claims, helping with total loss settlements, or simply taking care of their vehicles. We try to go beyond expectations, whether it’s offering detailed work upon completion or providing discounts when we can.

Our new facility at 406 S. 23rd St. allows us to do more in-house, including electronic measurements to restore vehicles to OEM standards, diagnostics and radar calibration, and a modern paint booth with multiple paint lines. We’re equipped to repair a variety of vehicles – including cars, trucks, semis, buses, motorcycles and coaches.

The new facility will give us much more space, increasing our square footage from 3,000 square feet to more than 15,000 square feet. We plan to move into our new home by the end of the year.
