Mobile Companion Taxi continues to serve in 2025

Mobile Companion Taxi is more than your typical transportation service.

Owner Chris Conklin and his son, Logan, provide companion-based services to the Fairfield community and those within a 2-hour radius in southeast Iowa. This father-and-son team is a licensed taxi service that also offers delivery services and, most importantly, good conversation.

“I believe my clients and customers are seeking a way to get to where they need to go but have also learned to appreciate the ‘mobile companion’ concept of my desire to not only serve people, but to be a source of help in times of need,” Conklin says.

After serving as an ordained minister in a variety of different congregational settings, Conklin wanted to care for others by establishing companion-based transportation services. On Dec. 14, 2018, Conklin launched Mobile Companion Taxi and was officially licensed on March 11, 2019. He and his son, Logan, have been serving the community ever since.

Conklin’s services are available 24/7 and by appointment for those needing a safe, comfortable and affordable lift around the region. Conklin has also built on-call relationships with Jefferson County Health Center, the Fairfield Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Fairfield Fire Department and local nursing homes in an effort to assist those most in need of a ride.

Conklin’s mission and core values are to appreciate and value each person that utilizes his services. This, Conklin says, is what truly makes his business stand out.

“I believe what makes the Mobile Companion Taxi stand out from other businesses/services like mine is my willingness to help others along the way while becoming friends with many of my clients,” he says.
