To the editor:
Susan Komen for the Cure (breast cancer) wisely decided but then unfortunately reversed it?s decision to end their significant funding of Planned Parenthood, Komen also fails in its programs to address the causes of this terrible disease especially by abortion and contraception, a major part of the business of Planned Parenthood.
Abortion and contraception are long known to be causes of breast, liver and other cancers. Contraceptives in part act in the mother?s body to cause early abortion and their widespread use is a major source of ?estrogen overload? in water systems and oceans of the world; male fish laying eggs which is evident in three major areas of our country, testicular cancer in boys, prostate cancer in men, and the breast cancer epidemic in women, including the deadly form of triple negative breast cancer. Estrogen is declared by the World Health Organization as a class one carcinogen or cancer-causing agent. Women using contraceptives may still ovulate in three out of 10 cycles. Contraceptive failure is the reason for more than half of abortions.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. For instance, having a baby and breast feeding before the age of 24 is a natural deterrent to breast cancer. Natural Family Planning is more effective than artificial chemical and hormonal means not only to delay and or avoid but to achieve the conception of a child. Also known as fertility awareness, this knowledge and understanding, with cooperation and communication, respect and affection in marriage reflects in less than a 5 percent divorce rate, greater strength and stability in families, the basis of community and country.
The Bible says in Genesis to multiply, be prosperous and fill the earth. I trust and believe in the wisdom and providence of nature and the God of Nature.
