Planned Parenthood?s expansion unwelcome

It was with great sadness that I read the article on the front page of the April 15 Fairfield Ledger [?Planned Parenthood plans to expand in Nebraska, Iowa?] telling of Planned Parenthood?s expansion plans. They plan to open 12 new facilities in Nebraska and Iowa, and the new Omaha facility will provide abortions. President Obama says, ?Everything is on the table when it comes to cutting spending.? Well, I guess that?s everything except money for Planned Parenthood ~ the nation?s largest provider of abortions, because even though there was an attempt to strip their funding, it was defeated, so Planned Parenthood will continue to receive $349.6 million of our tax dollars each year.
Since I have moved to Fairfield, I have seen the closure of FOUR elementary schools, with another looming in the future. Where are all the children? We are giving a ton of money to an organization that is literally killing our future citizens. What will it take for us to wake up and say ENOUGH! This is evil and must stop. Any good that Planned Parenthood might do through its cancer screenings is completely negated by the millions ? yes, MILLIONS! ? of unborn babies they have killed since 1970. Planned Parenthood?s abortion income from 2008 was $152.2 million ~ its cumulative abortion income since 1970 is $1.7 BILLION. Abortion is big business for Planned Parenthood. If you doubt what I am saying, I encourage you to read Abby Johnson?s book, UNPLANNED. She was director of a Planned Parenthood in Texas until she witnessed an ultra-sound guided abortion and saw for herself a tiny baby being torn apart. And now Planned Parenthood is ensuring that women will receive even less medical care by dispensing an abortion pill via web cam and computer. How much more impersonal can they get?
If Planned Parenthood truly wants to help women, they will divest themselves of anything to do with abortion and focus strictly on cancer screenings and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.
If you know of anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy, please discourage them from contacting a Planned Parenthood, and encourage them to go to Heartland Pregnancy Center in Ottumwa or Cradle of Hope in Mt. Pleasant.
May we all work and pray for the day when no more mothers cry and no more babies die.
