Around 1,500 people attended the 2022 Trunk or Treat at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Fairfield on Sunday, Oct. 30. In addition, numerous volunteers also assisted with the event.
Trunk or Treat participants had the opportunity to walk through the hog barn, which had ring toss games, Halloween decorations, and information about 4-H opportunities. They then could meet Iowa State’s mascot “Cy” and have a photo opportunity. Next, they traveled around the grounds to each trunk to get candy, books, and more. They ended in the show arena with games, popcorn, and juice, and then could take a wagon ride through the fairgrounds- all for free.
“The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office in Jefferson County would like to thank the 41 businesses and organizations who set up a trunk at this year’s event for a record number of trunks,” said Courtney Burkhalter, program director at Jefferson County ISU Extension.
