TerraCycle Fairfield announced that it is seeking input from businesses and organizations about their sustainability efforts. It has created a survey that can be taken by clicking on a link after going to this webpage: https://www.fairfieldiowa.com/news/terracycle_fairfield_survey/
The organization posted the following blog post to alert residents to the survey and the other things TerraCycle Fairfield has been up to:
Dear Chamber Members and the Community of Fairfield,
Many of you have likely seen some changes popping up around town; you may have noticed colorful recycling bins multiplying at the grocery store, sat on a new bench made of recycled materials in the park, or went to the farmers market and bought a hat from a stranger who seemed fascinated with your garbage. These occurrences, however, are not coincidences—Fairfield has got a stubborn case of zero-waste fever.
TerraCycle Fairfield is one of several local initiatives working to bring our city into the future of sustainability. We provide locals with ways to recycle traditionally non-recyclable products in categories such as oral care, beauty/health, snack bags, and more.
We have since begun to explore how we can work with business owners like you to improve Fairfield as a whole. It’s for this reason that we want to hear from you—what sustainable practices are you currently implementing? What has worked and what hasn’t? Where do you see the most room for improvement? By taking this 5 minute survey you will significantly help our efforts to bring about effective sustainable progress in Fairfield.
We would like to bring your practices to the foreground to inspire others and give your business recognition for its efforts. We also welcome all members that would like to explore new sustainable initiatives in their organizations by offering our assistance. If you would like to learn more about this, you can contact us directly @terracycletown@gmail.com
TerraCycle Fairfield began in 2019 as a project of the Sustainable Living Coalition, and in 2020 it partnered with Fairfield Interact, the youth arm of Rotary, to carry on its mission and even expand its services. TerraCycle Fairfield’s first public venture involved placing recycling bins inside the entrance to Everybody’s Whole Foods. In 2021, it added another bin to its row of bins in Everybody’s, this one to collect snack bags.
