The Sunday Night Latin, Ballroom and Swing Dance

Now that spring is around the corner, put a spring in your step and come to the Latin, Ballroom and Swing Dance Sunday evenings at Morning Star Studio. Enjoy the finest selection of classic and contemporary pop music woven together into a unique collection of playlists and aired through a great sound system. Hear music ranging from the Big Band Sound of the ‘40s to the galloping rhythm of nightclub Salsa.

Feel the elegance and grace of the Waltz and the sensuality of the Rumba. Roll with the East Coast Swing or flirt with the West Coast style. Rock to the electrifying music of the Disco of the 70s and beyond. Play with the Cha-Cha. Tantalize your partner with the Tango. Put soul in your stroll to the Fox Trot.

What if you never danced before? Don’t worry. Beginners are welcome; we give a half-

hour lesson at the beginning of every dance and we will help you learn and practice.

If you only know one style, Alternative Dance charts are available to view substitute dances for the one indicated on the playlist handout. Some people dance swing to every song!

Whether to express yourself through rhythm and movement or to meet new people and get great exercise in a friendly and safe social atmosphere, you will find what you need in the wide range of dance that constitutes social ballroom dancing. Come singly or with a partner and bring your friends. Dress casual or dressy. If you’re new or just want to review the basics, come to the lesson starting at 7:30 p.m. Social dancing starts at 8 and continues until 9:45. Admission is $5 per person.
