Trees planted along Fairfield Loop Trail
Nov. 10, 2022 2:49 pm
The Nadyland Conservation Committee has funded planting another 10 trees for the Fairfield Loop Trail. These trees were planted Sunday, Nov. 6 by Andrew Nash, Bob Koczella, Janette Koczella, Dan Sears and Steve Taylor.
“We planted 4 bur oaks, 3 swamp white oaks and 3 shingle oaks,” Taylor said. “Oaks were planted because oaks support the food web more than any other plant in our area.”
Four trees were planted near the loop trail next to the Nady Prairie, and six trees were planted near the loop trail between Pleasant Plain road and Walton Lake.
The trees are watered during drought to ensure their survival.
