Washington, Jefferson County Farm Bureaus win awards
Dec. 13, 2022 3:14 pm
Members of the Washington and Jefferson County Farm Bureaus received awards during the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s 104th annual meeting held Dec. 6-7 in Des Moines.
Jefferson County Farm Bureau was recognized as an “Outstanding County Farm Bureau.”
The “outstanding” designation is awarded to Farm Bureaus that find unique ways to share about today’s modern agriculture, discuss important ag-related topics with elected officials and support community members in need.
“As a grassroots organization, everything we stand for starts with the county Farm Bureau,” said Brent Johnson, Iowa Farm Bureau president. “There’s no doubt the collective, year-round efforts of our members create a more vibrant future for agriculture, farm families and our communities.”

This award is given to agents who collaborate with their county Farm Bureau to promote the organization as a valuable member of the local community. TeBockhorst supports ag education and the Prairie High School FFA Chapter as well as youth sports and the local fire department.
Adams, Steele and Williams were nominated for their involvement with the county fair, county Farm Bureau and community on local boards and initiatives.
Each agent received a monetary award and plaque to recognize their accomplishments from Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Farm Bureau Financial Services and their local county Farm Bureau.
