Thank you, Fairfield! The bell ringing season for the Salvation Army has come to an end. With help from groups like the Fairfield Lion?s Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Friends Church; businesses like Jefferson County Health Center, Libertyville Savings Bank, and Midwest One Bank; and many, many generous individuals and families, we surpassed our goal of $20,000. We ended the season having raised $20,348.
This was possible because of the generous gifts of our neighbors. Many people graciously braved cold winds, snow and late hours to help make it possible to assist our friends and neighbors when they face hard times.
The fund raising effort goes on throughout the year, however, and mailed contributions are always welcome. Your contributions are helping right here in Jefferson County.
We also want to say a big thank you to the people of Fairfield and the surrounding area for the generous warmth and generosity that made the work a success. With your partnership, we will meet the needs of our neighbors and friends in the new year. We never know when any one of us may be the next person needing such assistance.
You are encouraged to call Pastor Holland Webb, the Jefferson County Service Extension Coordinator for the Salvation Army, at New Life Community Church at 472-2524 if you have questions or would like to make a donation.
