I am remembering back (was it 20 or 25 years ago?) when zoning was being discussed for Jefferson County. My late husband Francis was part of a committee that was formed to explore the possibilities and implications of having zoning for the entire county.
Several public meetings were held in the Fairfield High School auditorium to provide an opportunity for county residents to have input and voice their opinion. The concept was never adopted, due to too much opposition. People did not want someone ?telling me what I can or can?t do.?
It is too bad. Zoning would have precluded situations such as this.
