More than 300 students from across Iowa explored global food security issues through hands-on experiences, expert panels and student-led research presentations during the event.
Marengo students wrote research papers about a chosen country and a limiting factor that causes food insecurity in that country.
This experience not only earned them scholarships but also gave them the lasting distinction of being Borlaug Scholars. The honor is named after Iowa’s Nobel Peace Prize winner, Norman Borlaug.
