Steve Rose, treasurer for the Amana Fire Department, accepts a donation from Barry Goettsch, CEO of Compass Memorial Healthcare, for the purchase of a utility vehicle. Following a grass fire in the river bottom, Amana Fire Department begin asking for donations to purchase a UTV to help fight grass fires. “The unit will have an enclosed passenger area that can be used in all types of weather,” Rose said. “We can carry more water, and, with the low profile, we will be able to distribute more evenly for safety purposes.” Compass donated $10,000. The fired department is seeking additional donations to complete the UTV purchase. (Submitted photo)
