The latest weekly boys and girls wrestling rankings from IAwrestle were released this week before Christmas.
Seeing weekly rankings requires a subscription with the site, and I’ve subscribed for the season.
On the boys wrestling side, several teams and individuals were featured on this week’s rankings.
In the team dual rankings, Iowa Valley came in 14th in Class 1A, Williamsburg was 14th in 2A.
Only 24 teams in each of the three classes will qualify for regional duals.
A total of 12 individuals were ranked between 2A and 1A.
Williamsburg led area schools with four total selections.
Riker DeWitt, undefeated on the season, was fifth at 113 pounds.
Hayden Albaugh was 12th at 132, Brady Grier 10th at 175 and Carson Grier sixth at heavyweight.
Belle Plaine and Iowa Valley’s lead trios, who have been ranked all season thus far, remain ranked.
The Plainsmen’s Aidan Timm remained second at 144, Will Sankot is 12th at 150 and Wade Sankot fifth at 157.
For Iowa Valley, Chance Hoyt, wrestling at 150 now, is ranked fourth, Mason Hoyt is sixth at 175 and Nolan Kriegel sixth at 190.
BGM’s Hunter Hodina is 10th at 138 and Montezuma’s Braxton Plants is second at 215 to round out area selections.
In girls wrestling, five area wrestlers were featured in this week’s rankings in 1A.
