WILLIAMSBURG — The Support a Vet Save a Pet 5k/Fun Run in Williamsburg Saturday morning set a record for Williamsburg road-race events.
The race drew 248 participants.
Proceeds from the race will be used to train service dogs for veterans and to install air conditioning in the Safe Haven Iowa County Shelter.
A pancake breakfast followed. Race director Amanda Wiebold hopes to make this a yearly event.
Nathan Hopp won the 5K race by over five minutes, finishing in 16:09.
The top female finisher was Lindsay Hopp.
