Absentee voting open in Poweshiek County

MONTEZUMA — Absentee ballots for the Aug. 5 special rural improvement zone election for permanent residents of Holiday Lake are available from the Poweshiek County Auditor’s office.
A voter may request a ballot by completing a State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form or by writing on a piece of paper no smaller than three inches by five inches the name of the voter, voter ID number (Iowa Driver’s License or non-operator ID number or four-digit voter PIN), voter’s address, address to which the ballot should be sent, voter’s date of birth, date and name of the election and the voter’s signature.
Send ballot requests to the auditor’s office, P.O. Box 57, Montezuma, IA 50171.
The auditor’s office can mail out ballots through July 21.
Forms may be downloaded from the Iowa Secretary of State’s website, sos.state.ia.us.
Absentee voters may also vote in person at the county auditor’s office 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
