Four area athletes earn 1A Southeast all-district honors

HLV-TC’s Ema Roberts, Belle Plaine’s Kayleah Laughlin, Iowa Valley’s Lydia Kriegel and Montezuma’s Sydnee Burgess earned all-district volleyball honors Monday.

The Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association released their all-state and all-district teams in a tweet on X Monday morning. The volleyball season concluded earlier this month at the state tournament in Coralville.

All four area athletes were given honors on the Class 1A Southeast district team.

Each led their respective teams in kills.

Ema Roberts, HLV-TC: 297 kills, .200 kill efficiency, 23 blocks, 268 digs, 29 aces

Kayleah Laughlin, Belle Plaine: 259 kills, .242 kill efficiency, 36 blocks, 271 digs, 69 aces

Lydia Kriegel, Iowa Valley: 317 kills, .203 kill efficiency, 31 blocks, 192 digs, 20 aces

Sydnee Burgess, Montezuma: 246 kills, .245 kill efficiency, 98 blocks, 212 digs, 21 aces
