Amana adds extra day to Oktoberfest

AMANA — This year marks Amana Colonies’ 60th Oktoberfest.
This year, they’ve have added a whole extra day, said Amana Colonies Festivals in a press release. The celebration begins Oct. 2 and runs through Oct. 5.
The Party Patio at the official Oktoberfest Festhalle grounds is also new this year, the press release said. The Party Patio will have drinks and special merchandise available for purchase.
The Festhalle grounds will have live music all weekend, and games will take place at the Market Barn Saturday, Oct. 4 from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
The theme for this year’s Oktoberfest parade is “Diamond Prost: Cheers to 60 Years!” The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
To register for the parade, visit amanacolonies.com/things-to-do/festivals/oktoberfest/ for a form. For parties that participate in the theme, winners will be announced in three categories: best use of theme, judges choice and most humorous.
Winners will be announced on Facebook and in the Amana Colonies Bulletin, and winners will be contacted after the event.
