Amana Freezer Run 5k coming up in late January

AMANA — Looking to get that first 5K of the year in?

The Amana Freezer Run 5K run/walk may be a great option.

The annual event is a part of the Amana’s Winterfest, sibling to the more well-known Oktoberfest hosted by the town.

The race will take place Jan. 28 at 10 a.m., starting and finishing at the Hotel Millwright in town.

Registration can be completed online at the following link or on site the day of the race. Packet pickup will be at the Carding Studio in Hotel Millwright.

Early registration before Jan. 15 is $30 and includes a guaranteed T-shirt or meat market package.

Registration after Jan. 15 will be $35 and will include a T-shirt or meat package only as long as supplies last.

Awards will be given out to overall male and female and the top three in each age division.

All proceeds from the event will support the Amana Kolonieweg Recreation Trail.
