Amana museum interns to share projects
AMANA — Amana Heritage Musuem will host its Second Edition of Altes und Neues Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.

Cooper worked in the museum archives and at the Communal Kitchen Museum during the summer. He plans to attend college for museum studies, according to The Bulletin.
Longtime AHS volunteer R.C. will share his research on Amana residents who served in the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.

Tannenbaum Forest opens Thanksgiving weekend
AMANA — The Amana Colonies are looking for people to create trees for its annual Tannenbaum Forest.
The forest will open Friday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving, at the Festhalle in Amana. Families, clubs, church groups, Bible study groups, business and youth organizations can be part of the Tannenbaum Forest by contacting the Amana Colonies Visitor Center at 319-622-7622, stopping by to pick up a sign-up sheet or emailing events@amanacolonies.com to request a sign-up sheet, according to the Amana Society Bulletin for Oct. 31.
Money collected at the door of the Festhalle and through tree fees will be donated to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa and to several local charities, the Bulletin says.
Tree fees are $60 for nonprofit organizations and Amana Colonies Convention and Visitor’s Bureau members and $80 for all other businesses and other groups. Make checks to Amana Colonies Festivals, Inc.
Trees may be decorated Monday, Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Convention and Visitor’s Bureau also needs volunteers to decorate the forest in general and to place pine garlands on fences along main street in Amana Monday, Nov. 25, the Bulletin says.
