Belle Plaine girls get first win
Score 20 in 3rd quarter after 16-30 halftime deficit

The Belle Plaine girls basketball team recorded its first win Saturday, beating BGM 45-43 in Brooklyn.
Behind 30-16 at the half, the Plainsmen outscored BGM 20-7 in the third quarter to come within one, and outscored the Bears 9-6 in the fourth quarter for the win.
For BGM, sophomore Shaye Strong scored 13, going 4-of-12 from the field and 4-for-7 from the line. Senior Laila Morrison scored 9, and junior Ryanne VanDee scored 7.
Morrison added five rebounds and a steal. Macey Heishman had four rebounds and a steal, and Sadie Klein, a freshman, had four rebounds and four steals.
Stats were not available for Belle Plaine.
The Belle Plaine win followed a 53-28 Plainsmen loss at Keota Dec. 12. Ella Grieder led with 11 points and eight rebounds.
