Belle Plaine goes 3-0 at home quad
Girls regional meets are Friday

The wrestling postseason will be in full swing this week.
The South Iowa Cedar League girls meet is Monday, and regional meets are scheduled for Friday.
In 1A, Williamsburg will host a regional meet, Iowa Valley and English Valleys will travel to Wapello and BGM to Midland.
The top two finishers in each weight class will advance to the state tournament the following week at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
WaMaC and SICL boys tournaments are Saturday.
Belle Plaine quad
BELLE PLAINE — Class 1A No. 22 Belle Plaine went 3-0 in a home quad Thursday, picking up wins over HLV-TC (42-10), Moravia (48-28) and Sigourney-Keota (54-24).
HLV-TC went 0-3.
Colfax-Mingo triangular
COLFAX — Iowa Valley went 2-0 in a triangular at Colfax-Mingo Thursday. The Tigers defeated Colfax-Mingo 54-14 and Ogden 55-18.
Montezuma quad
MONTEZUMA — Montezuma went 3-0 in its home quad Thursday with wins over Baxter (42-23), English Valleys (60-9) and Lynnille-Sully (45-18).
English Valleys went 1-2, picking up a win over Lynnville-Sully by winning the tiebreaker criteria.
Alburnett duals
ALBURNETT — Iowa Valley was tested Saturday as the team finished 1-3 in duals.
The Tigers competed against Class 2A No. 6 Alburnett and 2A No. 13 West Burlington/Notre Dame. Scores from those duals were 66-12 and 54-30.
Mason Hoyt (175 pounds) and Nolan Kriegel (190) picked up the two wins for the Tigers in the dual with Alburnett.
Redhawk Invite
TRAER — BGM finished seventh with 100 points and HLV-TC eighth with 73.5 points Saturday at North Tama.
HLV-TC’s Cael Weisskopf was the champion at 150, defeating BGM’s Brock York by a 17-1 tech fall in the final.
Allan Scott added a runner-up finish at 120 for the Warriors.
Hunter Hodina (138) and Reed Slate (215) finished runner-up for BGM.
Ogden Tournament
OGDEN — Montezuma crowned two champions Saturday in Ogden, Rett Pargeon at 144 and Braxton Plants at 215.
The Braves finished second as a team with 140 points.
Kurt Hinschberger Invitational
BELLE PLAINE — Belle Plaine crowned one champion and had two runner-up finishers in its home tournament Saturday.
The Plainsmen finished sixth with 115 points.
Aidan Timm won by a 12-4 major decision in the 144 final over Pleasantville’s Blake Rowson.
Will Sankot (138) and Derek Kressley (165) both were runner-up for the Plainsmen.
Colfax-Mingo Tournament (Girls)
COLFAX — Iowa Valley put together a strong team performance Saturday, finishing second behind Pekin with 178 points.
The Tigers had three champions: Skyler Hoyt (125), Kodie Holcomb (135) and Raelene Hawkins (170).
Kenley Koenig was runner-up at 105.
BGM finished with 15th with 39 points.
Amiah Lint was runner-up at 120.
Louisa-Muscatine Invite (Girls)
LETTS — English Valleys finished 13th with 32 points among their five wrestlers Saturday at Louisa-Muscatine.
