BELLE PLAINE — Lillian Wickwire, a senior at Belle Plaine High School, is featured in the Kirkwood Benton County winter newsletter.
Wickwire answered a series of questions in the Kirkwood Community College publication.
Q. When did you start taking college credit classes?
A. I started taking college classes my freshman year.
Q. Which courses and/or academies have you enjoyed the most?
A. Fundamentals of oral communication, fundamentals of art and patient care academy.
Q. What has been the most surprising thing you have learned … after taking college credit coursework?
A. That I am able to learn and do a lot of things when I put my mind to it.
Q. Who (at Kirkwood) has made a lasting impact on you?
A. Courtney Upah, nurse aide instructor.
Q. How do you feel taking college credit classes better prepares students for their futures?
A. I feel college credit courses prepare you for your future better then any other classes I’ve taken before.
Q. Anything else you would like us to know about you?
A. I am very excited for my future endeavors, and I thank Kirkwood Community College for helping prepare me for my future.
