Belle Plaine undefeated after weekend

Belle Plaine boys’ basketball remained undefeated, winning a close one over Sigourney, 55-54, Tuesday, Dec. 5, then beating North Tama, 60-34, Thursday, Dec. 7, and Iowa Valley, 69-38 Friday, Dec. 8.

The Plainsmen (6-0) survived a tough road matchup thanks to an 18-point, 13-rebound performance from Riley Simmons against the Savages.

The Belle Plaine girls’ dropped to 0-6 on the season. The Plainsmen lost to Sigourney, 55-17, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, dropped one to North Tama, 30-23, Thursday, Dec. 7, and to Iowa Valley, 54-19, Friday, Dec. 8.

The final two games were not reported.
