VINTON — The Benton County Board of Supervisors heard requests for maintenance projects at the sheriff’s office during a brief meeting Dec. 30 in Vinton.
Supervisor Ron Tippett said he had visited with the sheriff about starting a fund for projects needed at the sheriff’s building. Supervisors talked about a fund that will roll over year after year.
Supervisors talked about air conditioning and heating for the facility, and Tippett said exterior work is needed.
The board also discussed a list of annual appointments for the new calendar year.
Deputy Auditor Gina Edler explained how the general supplemental fund works. The auditor can use if for election equipment, and the funds may also be designated to a specific project. This way it can be tracked throughout the year.
Supervisors also talked about building up a reserve fund for workmen’s compensation insurance and approved claims from Emergency Medical Services.
