Benton County Relay for Life set for June 2
Apr. 23, 2024 4:09 pm
VAN HORNE — The Benton County Relay for Life is set for Sunday, June 2 from 6-10 p.m. at the Benton Community High School track in Van Horne.
Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, said Relay for Life organizers. Friends, relatives, caregivers and survivors all use their special passion to help the American Cancer Society save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
Relay for Life is a time to come together and cheer on survivors in the community. It is a time to thank the caregivers who support their loved ones.
It is the time to remember and honor people the community has lost to cancer.
At Relay For Life, no donation is too small. Donations help fund groundbreaking cancer research and patient care programs.
Another way to support Relay is to purchase luminaria. Each one represents a life and shines in remembrance, hope or triumph.
Luminaria can be purchased at the Relay June 2 or ahead of the relay by contacting Ev Wiebke at 319-228-8974.
Cancer survivors are encouraged to sign in at Relay by 5:30 p.m. to receive a free T-shirt and to be honored during the Survivors’ Ceremony and lap at 7 p.m.
