VINTON — Benton County Supervisors set a land use hearing during its regular meeting Oct. 7.
The hearing is set for Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 9:15 a.m. for Cole Baumgartner for land in Section 7, Polk Township.
Supervisors approved quarterly reports from the auditor and sheriff and approved a class C retail liquor license for Walnut Ridge venue.
Supervisor Ron Tippett reported that he had a meeting with the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Board. The detention board is looking for a new chief executive officer, he said.
Supervisors Tracy Seeman said he’s received a lot of phone calls regarding safety shoes, which were discussed at the previous week’s meeting. He said the board should have a meeting with the safety committee before it goes any further.
The board also discussed the conservation property that is for sale and was asked about the board’s use of outside council and how to track it.
