Benton County Supervisors approve out-of-state training

VINTON — The Benton County Board of Supervisors approved out-of-state trips for two employees during its Feb. 19 meeting.
Supervisors approved out-of-state training for Mona Onken, of social services. Onken will attend the National Council of Mental Health in Philadelphia in May.
Supervisors agreed to allow Mark Erickson, of Benton County Transportation, to attend an out-of-state conference conducted by the Iowa Public Transportation Association. Officials will meet with legislators in the Capitol in Washington, D.C. March 20-22.
The Board of Supervisors approved a law enforcement contract with the City of Shellsburg and set a public hearing for the fiscal year 2026 budget. The public hearing is set for Wednesday, March 26 at 9 a.m. at the service center.
