Only one area football team will be heading to the quarterfinals. Iowa Valley defeated Janesville 63-0 win in the 8-player playoffs.
Montezuma (8-player) and BGM (Class A) were both defeated Friday night.
Audubon 82, Montezuma 0
AUDUBON — Fifth-ranked Audubon was firing on all cylinders, jumping out to 40-0 lead after a quarter in Friday’s game against Montezuma.
The Wheelers rushed for 402 yards on 32 carries. Aiden Kjergaard led the way with 167 yards.
Montezuma closes its season 7-3. It’s the Braves’ fifth season in the last six with at least seven wins.
Lynnville-Sully 51, BGM 26
SULLY — The score was close at halftime, but Lynnville-Sully used a 22-point third quarter to pull away from BGM in a Class A playoff game, a rematch from the regular season.
The Hawks did their damage through the air. Connor Deal threw seven passing touchdowns, four of them going to Jack Bowlin.
BGM concludes its first season back in the 11-player game at 7-3. Seven wins is the most for the Bears in a season since 2020.
