Williamsburg Mayor Adam Grier was recently elected vice president of the board of trustees for Iowa Municipalities Workers’ Compensation Association.
Grier has been an active member of the IMWCA Board since June 2018, the organization said in a press release. Grier brings valuable experience and a steadfast commitment to advancing the organization’s mission of providing comprehensive workers’ compensation solutions for its members.
IMWCA is governed by a nine-member board of trustees comprised of elected and appointed officials chosen by the membership. As a self-insured risk pool created by and for its members, IMWCA operates under the principles of collaboration and member-driven leadership.
Grier has served as a council member for the City of Williamsburg and is currently its mayor. Grier has contributed to the board of trustees for Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo and serves as the Risk and Safety Advisor for Johnson County, IMWCA said.
Grier served in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1999.
As Vice President for IMWCA, Grier will play a key role in guiding the organization’s strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration among members to ensure the continued success of the association, IMWCA said.
