Braves 4th at EBF Invitational

Iowa Valley, HLV, English Valleys, BGM and Montezuma girls were at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Invitational Monday, April 15.

The Braves finished the highest, in fourth with 103 team points. North Mahaska won with 162.

Chloe Snook was a triple winner for Montezuma. She was first in the 100, 200 and 400.

Lydia Kriegel was a double winner for Iowa Valley, winning the shot put and discus.

Also winning individual gold were Lily Ferry of Montezuma in the high jump and Ryanne VanDee of BGM in the 100 hurdles.

English Valleys, HLV were also schedule to competed in the BGM Boys’ Invitatonal on Tuesday, April 16, but it was postponed due to weather.

EBF Invitational

On Thursday, April 18, Williamsburg, English Valleys, HLV and BGM competed at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Boys Invitational, the Ike Ryan Relays.

The Raiders took a small group and competed in class A.

Iowa Valley won 10 events, including four relays (sprint medley, shuttle hurdle, 4x100 and 4x400).

The Tigers swept the field events, with Garrett Hoyt winning shot put and discus, and Josh Read (high) and Nolan Kriegel (long) taking the jumps.

Caleb Haack won the 100 and Read won the 110 hurdles.

English Valleys had two winners — Jonathyn Downing in the 400 and Gage Heyne in the 800. BGM won the 4x200.

Iowa Valley, English Valleys, Belle Plaine and HLV were in action Friday, April 19, at the BGM Bear Trax Classic Relays in Baxter.

Kennedy Axmear won the shot put and discus for the Bears. Addison Achenbach won the 3,000, Ava Gehrking won the 100 and the Bears also won the 4x100.

Chloe Snook was first in the long jump for Montezuma. The Braves also won the 4x200.

Belle Plaine had two golds, the shuttle hurdle and distance medley relays.
