Regents sweep Montezuma in regional semifinal

The Montezuma volleyball team lasted longer in the postseason than any other area team.

Its season came to an end Monday when the Bravettes were defeated by Class 1A No. 13 Cedar Ridge Christian in a regional semifinal.

The Regents won by set scores of 25-17, 26-16 and 25-17.

The Bravettes totaled 15 kills in the three sets. Sydnee Burgess led with eight, Leah Urfer added three.

Montezuma, South Iowa Cedar League Champions, finish their great season 24-9.
