Brooklyn Opera House announces fall, winter events

BROOKLYN — The Brooklyn Opera House, a historic staple in the Brooklyn community since 1911, has planned a diverse lineup of events for the fall and winter.
Tickets for all events will be available at brooklynoperahouse.com.
Johnny Cash Tribute is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 27 with Bennie Wheels and “Walkin’ the Line.” This high-energy show brings Cash’s iconic “Folsom Prison” era to life with authenticity, capturing the sound, look and spirit of his live performances, according to a press release.
An Elvis Tribute is set for Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. The show features Riley Jenkins, the Tennessee Dynamite, as he brings the energy and charisma of Elvis Presley’s early years to the stage. Both evenings will begin with dinner at 5 p.m. Price of the dinner is included with the ticket.
The Annual Fundraiser Gala is set for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14. Brooklyn Community Development’s annual gala fundraiser supports arts, culture and community programs at the Brooklyn Opera House and other local venues.
The evening includes a cocktail hour, catered dinner, live auction and music from the Blackhawk Broadcaster Jazz Band. Funds raised help keep these historic venues affordable and open to the community, bringing people together through creativity and connection.
Tyler Richton and The High Bank Boys, with Ruari Brownell as the opening act, will be at the Opera House at 7 p.m. Nov. 15.
This Central Iowa band brings high energy and a neo-traditional sound inspired by legends like Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Jr., according to the press release.
“It's a Wonderful Life” comes to the Opera House Dec. 5, 6 and 7.
Brooklyn Community Theater’s production of the heartwarming holiday classic celebrates hope, kindness and the power of community.
A Tony Bennett Tribute will take the stage Dec. 14. Enjoy A Tribute to the Music and Memories of Tony Bennett, The Christmas Show with Steve Leeds. Hear Bennett’s greatest hits, such as “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” along with holiday classics, including “White Christmas” and “Let It Snow.”
