Bullers throws complete game, totals 14 strikeouts

Pitching has been the strength for the BGM baseball team this season, and that continued in a Class 1A District 8 game Monday in Winthrop against GMG.
The Bears won 7-1, behind a complete game at the mound from Jacksyn Bullers. Bullers allowed just two hits all game, striking out 14.
BGM had seven hits, and six different players brought in runs. The team stole eight bases, and Cayson Achenbach had two RBIs.
With the game postponed from Saturday, BGM is right back at it tonight again at the same place, facing the host school East Buchanan.
BGM and Belle Plaine were the lone two area teams to advance to the second-round.
Here is a look at other area district games Monday in 1A District 9.
Lone Tree 8, Montezuma 5
LISBON — Montezuma took the early lead after a run in the first inning and led 2-1 heading into the seventh.
The Lions put up seven runs in the top of the seventh, enough cushion to hold on for the victory as the Braves scored three in the bottom of the inning.
The Braves totaled 11 hits. Broox Stockman had two hits and two RBIs.
Montezuma finished the season 4-14.
Hillcrest Academy 12, HLV-TC 2
RIVERSIDE — Hillcrest Academy started off strong, leading 7-1 after two innings.
The Warriors scored a run in the second and sixth as Ravens’ pitcher Seth Ours gave up just four hits all game with two coming from Bryer Jack.
HLV-TC ended its season 6-11, its most wins in a season since 2022.
Highland 17, English Valleys 2
RIVERSIDE — English Valleys scored the first two runs in this one in the top of the first.
It was all Highland after that, responding with six in the bottom of the inning and eight in the fourth to end this one early.
The Bears totaled two hits and end their season at 0-17.
