WILLIAMSBURG — BurgBots, the Williamsburg Junior/Senior High School FIRST Tech Challenge team #6458, recently received a grant of $1,225 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S.
This grant will help the robotics team with its associated season costs, including participation fees and purchasing equipment.
"We are incredibly grateful to Bayer Fund for their support," said Krystle Stehno, the team’s coach, in a press release.
"This grant will not only enhance our robotics team's resources but also empower our students to develop their skills in robotics and engineering, paving the way for future innovators."
Bayer Fund and BurgBots want to see the communities they serve flourish, the press release said. This grant from Bayer Fund will support the organization by allowing BurgBots to continue participating for the 2024 — 2025 season and to see its vision of the robot to become a reality.
"Bayer Fund is proud to support the Williamsburg FTC team and their work to make real, sustainable impacts in the community,” said Al Mitchell, President of Bayer Fund, in the press release.
