Burgess selected Hometown Current area volleyball player of the year

Montezuma volleyball is fresh off a 24-win season, and was the clear top team in the South Iowa Cedar League all season.
A unified team that showed improvements in several areas was key to their success.
At the forefront of that success for the Bravettes was junior Sydnee Burgess.
Burgess led the Hometown Current area in several key statistics, most importantly in kills per set and kill efficiency.
Burgess’ high production, along with an unmatched efficiency in the area, stands alone among area players.
With that said, Burgess has been selected as the Hometown Current area volleyball player of the year.
Burgess also led the area in total kills (269) and was tied in blocks with 65.
Several other area players also put together great seasons for their respective teams.

HOMETOWN CURRENT AREA VOLLEYBALL TEAM
Sydnee Burgess, jr., Montezuma — Totaled 269 kills (3.32 per set) with a .312 kill efficiency, 65 blocks, 96 digs, 11 aces and 4 assists.
Clarissa Suhr, jr., Williamsburg — Totaled 216 kills (2.63 pet set) with a .151 kill efficiency, 41 assists, 23 blocks, 246 digs and 22 aces.
Kylee Suhr, soph., Williamsburg — Totaled 225 kills (2.74 per set) with a .264 kill efficiency, 20 assists, 63 blocks, 94 digs and 35 aces.
Averi Nielsen, sr., Williamsburg — Totaled 568 assists (6.93 per set), 87 kills with a .249 kill efficiency, 198 digs, 31 blocks and 41 aces.
Erilea Kupka, soph., HLV-TC — Totaled 558 assists (7.15 per set), 41 kills with a .149 kill efficiency, 199 digs, 46 aces and 8 blocks.
Nicole Gensley, sr., HLV-TC — Totaled 203 kills (2.53 per set) with a .192 kill efficiency, 48 blocks, 63 digs, 18 aces and 12 assists.
Alli Hoover, soph., Belle Plaine — Totaled 446 assists (5.65 per set), 147 kills with a .262 kill efficiency, 253 digs, 46 aces and 19 blocks.
Ava Gehrking, jr., English Valleys — Totaled 253 kills (3.29 per set) with a .145 kill efficiency, 65 blocks, 213 digs and 27 aces.
Shaye Strong, sr., BGM — Totaled 406 digs (6.06 per set), 45 assists, 6 kills and 20 aces.
Chloe Snook, sr., Montezuma — Totaled 370 assists (4.11 per set), 94 kills with a .109 kill efficiency, 25 blocks, 215 digs and 22 aces.
