Seventeen area players earned first team honors on the 8-player District 7 teams released this week.
Montezuma led the way with eight players. Belle Plaine had five and BGM had four.
BGM’s Beau Burns was named offensive player of the year after scoring 59 touchdowns on the season.
Ty Alcott earned defensive player of the year honors for the Plainsmen.
Montezuma’s John Beck was named coach of the year as the Braves earned the district championship this season and advanced to the State quarterfinals.
